Paris, take 2

My sister-in-law, C, and I arrived in Paris this morning for a week-long jaunt. Despite the jet lag, we did pull ourselves together and wander around for an evening stroll before installing ourselves in a cafe for dinner and wine.

Paris in mid-autumn is still busy with tourists, though not as much as it is in the late spring (or at least it seemed that way to me). Getting through passport control at Charles de Gaulle was quick, unlike busier times when you are herded through like a bunch of stubborn cattle getting vaccinated.

It is now just after 10 PM local time, and C and I are beginning to walk into walls and go cross-eyed with jet lag. Tomorrow will hopefully be a better day for exploring and for picture-taking.

As an aside, why the hell do all airplanes at the end of a trans-Atlantic flight look and smell like a science experiment gone terribly wrong?
