La Vie parisienne

The weather has been mild, making for pleasant strolls and sight-seeing, witnessing Parisians rising again and dusting themselves off.

At dinner tonight, we were seated at a window table at Le Servan. I noticed a little boy on rollerblades being quickly pushed across the street by an adult. When they made it safely across, the little boy happened to collapse (in the way of tired children everywhere, dramatically and with plenty of feeling) right in front our part of the window. I was staring at him, bemused and impressed with his resilience, despite his obvious desire to quit those rollerblades and run the rest of the way home!

D and I, charmed by this adorable child, waved and smiled at him through the glass. His mother, noting our enthusiasm, encouraged her boy to look at us smiling fools and wave back. Which he did! He seemed slightly buoyed by the attention, and we continued to grin at him as he pulled himself up nice and tall and carried on rollerblading.
