Seattle, Washington

We arrived last night in Seattle on an extremely bumpy flight thanks to turbulence that dogged us pretty much from Chicago all the way to Seattle!

We decided to stay on Bainbridge Island, because there is a great restaurant here that we found on our previous trip. Marche restaurant is a lovely, chef-owned restaurant that serves French-inspired food with a Washington influence. When we were here last, D and I were enjoying our meal and wine, chatting with the super-friendly servers and watching the cooks work (the counter overlooks the grill and salad sections of the kitchen). As we were perusing the dessert menu, we realized that the last ferry back to Seattle (and our hotel) would be leaving shortly, so we had to get moving. We then quickly  paid the bill, said a very hasty goodbye to the staff, and RAN all the way back to the ferry terminal—not so easy on a full stomach and bottle of wine!

It has been raining non-stop here. However, the temperatures are in the mid-teens, so at least we are merely wet, not wet and cold.

There are so many seafood vendors at the Pike Place Market, that I am contemplating relocating to Seattle!

Seattle is the home of Starbucks—which means there is a Starbucks every 10 feet wherever you go in this city.
