Is There Anything to Eat Around Here?

There has been so much good food on this trip so far, and I have snapped so many photos that this could have turned into a food blog. Please mouse over the photos above for descriptions.

Today we explored the Carmel market here in Tel Aviv. You can buy dry goods as well as clothing there, but we went for the food, naturally.

    What’s that upside down wok thingie in pic #2? Also, what happened to that poor fish in pic 5? Looks tasty though

      Hey Kuya! The wok-looking thing is a griddle, but I have no clue what it’s called. In the far left of the picture, you can see a stack of breads that the lady made ahead of time. On top is a large round, padded pillow-looking thing that she uses to flip the bread over. She also used the ‘griddle’ to warm the bread before she filled it and folded it for us. The one in the picture is the one she made for us; it was so delicious! As for the fish in the last picture…well, it was split, sprinkled with spices, and grilled just for us. It took us a while, but we ate the entire thing. Then we waddled home and promptly passed out…
